Patricia O'Connell, French horn, holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam and a Master of Music (French horn performance) from Ithaca College. Her teachers include Dr. Perry Yaw, Roy Schaberg, and John Covert. Throughout her career she has taught Instrumental Music in several school districts and currently is the High School Band Director at Vestal High School, Vestal, NY. A Glimmerglass Opera Orchestra member since 1979, Patti also performs as a regular member of the Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra and is Co-Principal French horn of the Tri-Cities Opera Orchestra. In addition to substituting with other orchestras in the Southern Tier of New York, she performs with Brass Menagerie, a Brass Quintet and Fair Winds, a Woodwind Quintet. She has been a featured as a soloist with the Binghamton Community Orchestra and in many area churches. In addition to her career as a teacher and performer, Patti has raised one daughter and two sons. A 2006 newlywed, she and her husband, Bill, now enjoy three terrific grandchildren.
