









Gabriel Kovach, born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, is active
as both a chamber and orchestral musician. 2006-2007
marked Mr. Kovach's first season as Principal Horn of the
Phoenix Symphony. More recently, he has held positions as
both the Principal Horn of the Chamber Orchestra of
Philadelphia and the Opera Company of Philadelphia. During
the summers he travels to Cooperstown, N.Y. as Principal Horn
of the Glimmerglass Opera Festival. He has served as
Principal Horn of the National Arts Center Orchestra in Ottawa
Canada, under the direction of Pinchas Zuckerman.
Additionally, he has toured with the Orpheus Chamber
Orchestra, sharing duties as Principal and Second Horn. Mr.
Kovach also continues to perform with the Philadelphia
Orchestra as an active member of their substitute pool. In 2008
Gabriel Kovach was named as Endorsing Artist for
Conn-Selmer.
Along with his orchestral duties, Mr. Kovach has been a
member of many prominent festivals. For three consecutive
summers he was a participant of the prestigious Marlboro
Music Festival in Vermont where, during the summer of 2003,
Mr. Kovach and four of his colleagues founded the Sonoro
Winds, making their debut performance at the 92nd street Y in
Manhattan. Additionally, he has participated at the Norfolk,
Sarasota, Verbier(Switzerland) and Casals Festivals.
After being awarded a Bachelor's degree from the Curtis
Institute of Music, where he studied with Myron Bloom and
Barry Tuckwell, Mr. Kovach received his Masters Degree at
The Juilliard School, studying with both Julie Landsman and
Jerome Ashby.
