Trombonist Dan Martin holds degrees in music education and performance from Ithaca College
and the University of North Texas. He is currently in his 21st year of teaching at Laurens Central
School, where his bands have won numerous awards and honors. Previously, he taught at four
central New York colleges and universities. His performance credits over the past 25 years have
included: the position of Principal Trombone in the Catskill and Utica Symphonies as well as that
of a regular substitute with the Binghamton and Schenectady Symphonies; membership in the
Glimmerglass Opera Orchestra and the Glimmerglass Trombone Quartet; and regular
appearances as both performer and conductor with the Orpheus Theatre in Oneonta, the Catskill
Brass, Catskill Stompers and numerous jazz combos.
