David Irvin is currently the Principal Double Bass of the Glimmerglass Opera Orchestra and the Catskill
Symphony. In addition, he performs with the Binghamton and Albany Symphonies. He is also the Director
of Orchestras at Delaware Academy in Delhi, New York. He received a B.S. in Music Education from
West Chester University, West Chester, PA, and an M.M. in Double Bass at the State University of New
York, Binghamton. His bass teachers include Irving H. Cohen (West Chester State University), Karl Torello
(Temple University/Philadelphia Orchestra) and Terrance Squires (Syracuse Symphony Orchestra).
