Christine Orio is the director of the Greenman Hill Music School in Averill Park, New York, and
has enjoyed a long-standing career as both a performing artist and private instructor of the violin
and viola. Ms. Orio performs professionally as a violist with the Rhode Island Philharmonic, the
Glimmerglass Opera, and the Albany Symphony, as well as other regional orchestras in the
Northeast. Her life as a freelance musician is eclectic and includes collaborations with pop stars,
rock musicians, fiddlers, and Broadway legends. Most recently, Christine has begun a crossover
into folk music. She finds great joy in country and Irish fiddling, as well as bluegrass and its more
progressive form, known as "new grass."
