Violist Alexandra VandeGeijn is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Peabody
Conservatory, where she studied with Heidi Castleman and Roberto Diaz, respectively. She resides
in Baltimore but freelances throughout the region. She is a member of the Baltimore-based string trio
Gliss!, which plays concerts throughout the area. In addition to her work with Gliss!, she is a regular
member of the Delaware Symphony, Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, and OperaDelaware. She also
frequently performs with the Washington Opera, as well as a variety of other orchestras and
ensembles. Her summers are spent in Cooperstown, New York, where she performs annually with
the Glimmerglass Opera. She has also performed with orchestras and festivals in Japan, Aspen,
Colorado, and Key West, Florida.
